Bigi Pan, translation

Dear all,

finally my translation of Bigi pan! I'm terrible I know :p

We left at 7.30 am, yes for trips we have to get up soon! ;) We had a busride of 4.30h with off course the needed breakfast stop and the toiletstops. Afther the bus ride we had to take the boat, exciting =) First we sailed for 15min and then we had to push the boat over a dam. Afther that we had another 30 min to sail. We saw a lot of birds, also a howler! a dead caiman and a very big one who was a live! Approximatly 1.30m... Scary ;) At some point the river becomes a big lack with 5 stilthouses, impressive! There is even one house where a man lives premanently.. So we install ourselves in one of the houses and enjoy our hammock. At 3.30 pm we get our lunch ;) Surinam way we like!

At 5 pm we took another boatride but we didn't stay out very long because the water was very iewie! A lot of mode where you just couldn't stand.. So we got back to the house and relaxed a bit more.. Diner was at 9 pm. And then the highlight of the day! The caiman hunt!!! Off course I didn't want to miss anything and I made sure to be right behind the hunter, haha! :) It took us 3 quaters of an hour to find the right one and we had to survive a terrible musquitoplage!!! Really really awfull! But we made it, just right in front of the caiman the boat stood still, the hunter took his gun, and in a second the caiman was dead. It was the one we saw in the morning, for 1.30m. And yes I saw all this for just 1 meter away!
We took the poor animal, and he got skinned back at the house. It was very special to see all this happening. You can't allow yourself to think to much about it. We he was skinned we chopped the head off and took his teeth out as a souvenir. It just nice to think you really got it yourself...
And then off course we had to taste him :)

I was so tired, I was very happy to get in my hammock but unfortunatly it rained and rained and rained whole night long... But smart Céline with special shirt on and a sleeping bag stayed dry! :) Because everybody else, poor them got wet...

The next day we took the boot back to the bus and it drove us to another river who lead to the Atlantic ocean. We passed British Guyana, it was a nice speedy bootride, and so weird to be on the ocean..
When we got back we got another lunch this time at 1pm :) and took the bus back home. Happy to be in bed and ready for three days of workexperience.

This was it for bigi pan, but stay tuned for the c-section ;)

Brasa, x
